In the play, “Romeo and Juliet,” by William Shakespeare, a pair of teenagers from enemy families face death for their forbidden love. Throughout the story, both lovers struggle to maintain their secret relationship from their parent’s opposition. Ultimately, their love is tested to the point where both choose to take their life. The pion between Romeo and Juliet is demonstrated through the use of light and dark imagery and the theme of life and death.
