Few questions about evolution?

You are quite right that Evolution does not explain the origins of life or human consciousness, but the reason is for much the same as why the theory of relativity does not explain these things. A theory is a "well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world; an organized system of accepted knowledge that applies in a variety of cirstances to explain a specific set of phenomena" Specific set of phenomena being the take home point. The theory of relativity explains motion and force, but does not touch on conscious thought or evolution of life over time because that is not the area it is trying to explain.
