My Ipod is in a million pieces! What am I going to do?

I had my Ipod shuffle that my mom bought me for my birthday with me at school and it fell off my pocket while I was walking down the hall and the person behind me stepped on it and it broke! I'm so upset abut it and I know my mom is going to kill me for having it at school in the first place. What should I do?
